On the pod we have conversations about all the less talked about aspects of life that can be challenging. Each week we hear from a new anonymous, or sometimes not anonymous, guest. We discuss things ranging from mental health, interpersonal relationships, lifestyle, social justice and wellness. The podcast is an open and vulnerable place where we can learn from each other and grow as a collective.

Why a podcast?

About a year ago I decided to start the podcast because I wanted to have a space to share and grow with my friends and the wider community. In my social work program we learned that each client is an expert in their own experience, and I really fell in love with this idea. As I listened to podcasts and read books, I found that very often the knowledge that is seen as superior is the one that comes from experts. Although I find this extremely valuable, I also think each person has so much to share and even more we can learn from. Through my therapeutic practice, and life experience, I also started to notice that a lot of our suffering has to do with feeling like we’re the only ones experiencing it. So I decided to create a space that questions this, a place to talk about all the facets that affect our mental health, where people can be vulnerable and where we can learn from one another. Throughout the conversations I bring in knowledge from my training as a therapist so people can use this as a place to start their therapeutic journey for free. Healing can be hard and lonely, so my hope is that while you’re listening you can feel connected, supported and understood.
